In a thrilling showdown at the GRAC Tournament, Lincoln Trail Baseball stunned spectators and rivals by overpowering the number one seed, Wabash Valley College, with a resounding 13-6 victory.
With a relentless offensive display, Lincoln Trail's lineup proved to be a force to be reckoned with. Leading the charge was Kevin Hilton, who crossed the plate three times, setting the tone for his teammates. Brayden Fraasman emerged as a standout performer, driving in an impressive four runs, including two home runs. Curtus Moak JR delivered with a home run as well. Paul Osting's powerful swing added another homer to Lincoln Trail's tally, while Gunner Lakins, and Maxwell Layne contributed to the team's formidable offensive onslaught.
The game was a testament to Lincoln Trail's offensive depth, as the team ended with a total of 15 hits, leaving Wabash Valley's defense scrambling. Despite one error, Lincoln Trail remained composed, maintaining their focus and executing with precision.
On the mound, Evan Moore commanded the game with 7.1 Innings Pitched, 4 strikeouts and only 3 walks, holding Wabash Valley to three runs. Hayden Slate then took over pitching duties, ensuring that Lincoln Trail maintained their lead and secured the huge victory, Slate finished the game with 1.2 innings pitches, 1 strike out, and 6 walks.
Lincoln Trail Baseball advances in the GRAC Tournament and will play Friday, May 10th, at 12:30pm in Mount Carmel.
