Baseball Pitcher Eric Rawlings Heading to Western Illinois University

 

Lincoln Trail College is thrilled to announce that Eric Rawlings is taking his skills to Western Illinois University following his graduation at Lincoln Trail College. Eric has been a key player for LTC, especially as a pitcher, and now he's moving up to play for WIU.

Head Coach Collin Maynard expressed his confidence in Rawlings' readiness for this next chapter, stating, "I believe Eric's time at LTC has prepared him very well for his future academic and athletic career at Western Illinois University. He has shown the ability to consistently handle adversity head-on and overcome any obstacles in his path."

Throughout the spring season, Rawlings has been a pivotal figure for LTC, particularly on the mound. Coach Maynard highlighted Rawlings' contributions, stating, "This spring, Eric has played a big role on the mound for us. He brings a great deal of toughness and competitive spirit to the mound every time he pitches and has shown to be a great leader for our underclassmen all season long."

Coach Maynard expressed his pride in Rawlings' commitment to WIU, emphasizing his dedication and work ethic. "I am extremely proud of Eric's commitment to Western Illinois University. He has worked extremely hard for this opportunity, and I expect him to have nothing but success in their program. I expect Eric to make an immediate impact for WIU from day one, and I know he will continue his hard work and dedication on their campus as well."

His leadership qualities and competitive spirit make him a valuable addition to the WIU baseball program, and Lincoln Trail College wishes him continued success as he embarks on this new journey.

During his two years at Lincoln Trail, he appeared in 29 games and started 22 of them. He had a total of 81 strikeouts.
