Graycie Poe Commits to Limestone University Following Success at Lincoln Trail College

After a remarkable journey at Lincoln Trail College, Graycie Poe has committed to Limestone University to continue her basketball career and academic pursuits. Graycie, a standout player for the LTC Women's Basketball program, has garnered attention for her skill, leadership, and dedication both on and off the court.

During her time at LTC, Graycie showcased her talent and determination, facing formidable opponents and emerging as a key player for the team. Reflecting on her experience, Graycie shared, "Lincoln Trail has helped me face obstacles by trusting that there will be challenges but it is how you respond to them. No matter how hard a time may be, it's how you respond and what you do to become a better player."

Head Coach Zach Loll commended Graycie for her contributions to the team, stating, "The level of competition Graycie played against while at LTC has prepared her for the players she will face. Playing against tough teams provided her with the opportunity to grow as a player and gain confidence to perform at a high level." Coach Loll emphasized Graycie's invaluable qualities, adding, "Graycie provided many intangibles to the team. She led by example, never complained, and had the heart of a warrior. It was an honor to coach Graycie for 2 years."

Coach Loll also highlighted Graycie's statistical improvement and impact on the LTC Women's Basketball program, stating, "She has definitely impacted the LTC Women's Basketball program and has impacted my life as a coach. I wish Graycie the best and look forward to following her future endeavors."

Expressing her excitement about joining Limestone University, Graycie shared, "I chose Limestone because when I visited, it felt like home. Enjoying playing basketball is something important to me, and at Limestone, it brings a competitive family experience. I expect the season to go well. I expect to contribute to the team however that may be."

Looking ahead, Coach Loll expects Graycie to be a key contributor at Limestone, stating, "I expect Graycie to be a key contributor at Limestone. While she may not score the ball at the rate she did at LTC, you will see her contribute as a facilitator making her teammates at Limestone better, and defensively she will have the ability to impact the game."

Graycie expressed gratitude for Coach Loll's guidance, saying, "Coach Loll has taught me that what is going on in your life and the struggle you face may not be as bad as someone else's. Embrace the challenges and face each one head-on because it can only go up from there."

Graycie Poe's commitment to excellence both on and off the court exemplifies the values of perseverance, teamwork, and determination.

During the 2023-2024 Season, Graycie was named All Region and All Conference. She also received the Sportsmanship Award. During her two years, she started in all 53 games she appeared in, has 247 rebounds, 181 asssits and scored 942 points.

Her advice is "Be yourself no matter how someone may see you or think of you. When you get on the court leave it all out there and people will notice. Enjoy your time here. It goes fast."
