St. Louis, MO — It was a nice and sunny day in St. Louis, MO as the Lady Statesmen were back on the road to face the Lady Archers of St. Louis Community College and both teams were looking to avoid consecutive losses.  

In the 18th minute the Lady Statesmen opened their scoring account, #7 Eduarda Queiroz began the attack as she flicked the ball over the defender's head, dribbled down the line and found a pass to #14 Ana Guedes , who then took a shot from a distance and beat the goalkeeper for her first goal of the season. Five minutes later, the Lady Archers responded back with a goal of their own. The match was tied 1-1 at half time, with both teams hungry for the win.  

In the second half, #11 Isabella Granja provided the assist to #7 Eduarda Queiroz as she gave the Lady Statesmen the lead again with a fantastic goal. The Lady Archers continued to fight, and their resilience paid off, as they were able to find a late goal to draw the match 2-2. Both teams were evenly matched and avoided consecutive losses, the Lady Statesmen once again avoid losing on the road, as they've done all season.  

The Lady Statesmen are now 3-2-1 on the season and are back at home to face Lincoln Land Community College on September 16, 2023. Having lost the last two home games, the Lady Statesmen will be eager for a home victory on Saturday, as they have not won at home since their season opener on August 19.
