#6 Hawks go over Lady Sa

Normal, IL - The Lady Statesmen travelled to Normal, Illinois to face an undefeated Heartland Community College for the final regular season match of the season. The Lady Hawks asserted their dominance early in the first half, spending most of the half on the attack in the Lady Statesmen's half. Although they were put under a lot of pressure in the first half, the Lady Statesmen defended well and did not concede a goal. At half time the score remained 0-0. In the second half, the Lady Hawks were able to find a breakthrough late in the second half of the match to open the scoring. The Lady Hawks were able to add two more late goals in the match to take a 3-0 victory.

The Lady Statesmen are now 6-7-2 on the regular season and will shift their focus to post season play, as they travel on the road to face Illinois Central College in the District Quarterfinal match on October 20, 2023
