Tomas Bascon Chooses Mid America Christian University for Next Chapter

After an outstanding tenure at Lincoln Trail College, Tomas Bascon announces his commitment to further his athletic and academic career at Mid America Christian University (MACU). The accomplished soccer player credits his journey and success to his relentless dedication and the foundation laid at Lincoln Trail College.

Reflecting on his time at Lincoln Trail, Bascon remarked, "For me, Lincoln Trail was the beginning of everything. It gave me all the tools and training I required to make the leap I always desired." With perseverance and determination, Bascon elevated his skills and performance, setting the stage for his next chapter in collegiate soccer.

Bascon's commitment to MACU stems not only from his athletic ambitions but also from a profound alignment of values and goals. "I knew what I am, and because of what I had worked for these two years, then my performance and motivation did not drop because I knew that sooner or later I would end up in a good place," Bascon shared. His unwavering commitment to excellence and his belief in his abilities have propelled him toward this significant opportunity.

Expressing gratitude for the support he received along the way, Bascon acknowledged the role of his agent, Caio, and the former MACU coach, now at OKU, in facilitating this pivotal moment. "Thank God I was fortunate to connect with a good agent like Caio who connected me with several coaches. But this opportunity came about thanks to the interest of the former MACU coach who is now the coach at OKU. Initially, I was going to sign with OKU, but the OKU coach made a very good recommendation to his former school MACU, which gave me a very good offer later, and therefore I ended up signing with them because it was a university that aligned perfectly with my goals, values, and what I want for my future. So, it was a win-win!"

With his commitment to MACU, Bascon embarks on the next phase of his athletic and academic journey with enthusiasm and determination.

His advice is this "Live in the moment and be happy mainly, enjoy the opportunity you have because two years go by very fast and it seems like I arrived yesterday at LT. Work hard for what you want. Hard and honest work always pays off. It is important to understand that before athletes we are students. So do not neglect your studies, I consider it very important to maintain a good GPA to qualify for higher scholarships at the time of transfer. In the same way with sports, it is important to stay focused on your sport to achieve the ideal performance and try to reach the highest personal level. To then obtain good scholarships and/or opportunities that allow you to shine even more according to your personal goals. Everything is achievable when you set your mind to it and are responsible and disciplined."
