Crail Commits to Oakland City

Lincoln Trail College is proud to announce that Katy Crail has committed to continue her academic and athletic journey at Oakland City University upon her graduation in May. Katy's commitment highlights her dedication to both her academic pursuits and her passion for softball.

Katy Crail, a transfer from another college after her freshman year, found her footing and her true athletic home at Lincoln Trail College. Head Coach Erica Arnold expressed her excitement about Katy's commitment to Oakland City University, saying, "I am so excited for Katy! Katy transferred to us from another college after her freshman year. After having a not so good experience, she was unsure about continuing to play. After many talks in the summer of 2022, Katy made the decision to give our program a chance. We are so lucky she did. Katy works extremely hard and is our vocal leader. She came in and made an immediate impact for us. Katy is going to do big things at Oakland City. We are so proud of her and look forward to seeing her success with the Mighty Oaks."

Katy stated, "I'm looking forward to having a good season and having fun! All of us are excited to play and win a lot of games! Being committed already has definitely lifted some stress off my shoulders, it makes me even more excited for this season. I feel a lot more relaxed and hope that reflects on the field." She also reflected on her time at Lincoln Trail by saying, "The community here at Lincoln Trail is great, and they really make it easy to ask for help. Coach Arnold has pushed me not only on the field but also academically and personally. She has made me a better leader, player, and person. I chose Oakland City because I really like the coach there and what the school offers. They have a lot of resources, plus the campus is gorgeous. I'm excited to be a part of the team there!"

Katy's advice to all upcoming Statesmen read "If you're struggling in a class, don't be afraid to reach out for help! The teachers and the staff are super supportive and they want to help if it's needed."
